APPLICATION PROCESS
Students submit an application, a writing sample, and a teacher recommendation. A committee of teacher/consultants selects the students.
The course is team-taught by exemplary, credentialed teachers in local schools who are Connecticut Writing Project teacher/consultants. This is an opportunity for 6th through 12th grade students from public and private schools all over Fairfield County to spend time on a college campus and to work on improving their writing. Professional writers, lyricists, and illustrators are brought in to speak with the students about the writing and publishing process. The Institute meets daily 9:00 – 1:30 (1st session); 9:00 – 1:00 (2nd session) and lunch will be provided. Transportation will be available from Greenwich, Wilton, Newtown, Milford and points closer to Fairfield University. Deadline for applications is May 15th.
Tuition: $700 per 2-week session
