2008 Young Writers' Summer Institute
Monday, June 30-Friday, July 11 (July 4th off) & Monday, July 14-Friday, July 25
  • Create exciting new pieces of writing
  • Share work with a community of writers
  • Become a more confident writer
  • Listen to guest writers (& learn some tricks of the trade)
  • Publish your writing

The course is team-taught by exemplary, credentialed teachers in local schools who are Connecticut Writing Project teacher/consultants. These teachers are committed to providing an exciting, challenging and rewarding learning experience for all participants. This Institute is open to middle and high students. Students explore many aspects of writing and have the opportunity to talk with published writers.

Partial scholarships are available.

Transportation will be available from Greenwich, Wilton, Newtown, Milford and points closer to Fairfield University.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Students submit an application, a writing sample, and a teacher recommendation. A committee of teacher/consultants selects the students.
Deadline for applications is May 1st.

This institute meets daily 9:00-1:30 (1st session), 9:00-1:00 (2nd session) and lunch will be provided.

Tuition: $700 for 2 weeks
